Frogs, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails - What Are You Eating?

Liver. I was forced to eat liver (usually paired w/rice and lima beans) as a child. LIVER!!!! Another beast's LIVER! For what? Iron they say? Did no one know that iron is in vegetables? I could puke knowing that I ate the liver - THE LIVER of an animal. Dramatic much? eh, maybe, but I'm just having a moment here. Was it cow's liver? Pig's liver?

Giblets - Have you ever stopped to research what a giblet is and where it comes from? What part of the chicken/turkey is it? I'm betting you have never done this research - your granny gave it to your mama and she gave it to you and now you eat it and feed the garbage to your progeny. Such a shame.

Then there are neck bones. Why are you eating neckbones and turkey necks?The bones of an animal's neck. How barbaric does this sound or does it sound weird to you?

And to the cultures that eat feet, intestines, tongue, brain, eyeballs. What are you doing? How low can you go to eat another beast's FEET - their FEET!!!! You can't find anything other than a TONGUE to put in your stew? Are you telling me that your money is so tight that you gotta eat the intestines of a beast - its digestive system - and have the unmitigated audacity to serve it up with rice, gravy, and a buttered yeast roll on a dinner plate and threaten the little ones to eat it all before leaving the table?

Moment of silence for all the children who've been subjected to this unrelenting cycle of dehumanization.

We are better than this.

Not to mention eggs. You are eating the unfertilized egg of a bird...A BIRD!!! - in humans we call the release of this unfertilized egg our menstrual cycle. Yet, you scramble it right up and serve it for breakfast. I'm positive that at this point people are giving no thought to their diet. None.

And why are you ruining your pot of collards with the STOMACH of a pig - oh, pardon me, I believe you call them HOG MAWS! Is that okay with you? No other seasonings or herbs will satisfy you other than the lining of a beast's stomach? I bet you had no clue what hog maws were - you are just playing your role in passing down ignorance to the next generation.

And there's nothing like eating the spine of a pig is there? You don't eat spine? I beg to differ. I bet you'll salivate over what's better known as pork chops any day.

WAKE. UP.

EAT MORE ANIMALS TO LOSE WEIGHT! 

Yep, that's the low-carb dieter's creed in a nutshell. (Paleo, Atkins, South Beach, Zone Diet just to name a few.)

Think about it. If a diet plan is telling you to avoid rice, corn, potatoes, & fruit, for example, what's left to eat? Meat, fish, dairy, and eggs. Am I the only one thinking here?

Each of the above named diet plans promotes high fat while demonizing carbs.

Look, there is nothing unhealthy about whole-foods-plant-based carbs, so I suggest you stop blindly following the "leader," exercise common sense which will lead you to eat a cruelty-free, nutrient dense, high-fiber, high carbohydrate diet. Plus you'll witness your health excel. Don't believe a word I say: Try it for yourself. High-fat? C'mon, you're intelligent enough to know that a high-fat life can't propel you into good health.

As for losing weight? Ha! You can lose weight eating only a Snicker's bar every day. But is it healthy? lol! Wake up and stop the madness.

Oh, and in reality, no animal has to die for you to shred your waistline and increase your health.

How do you get a nation of people, who were raised and brainwashed to believe that DAIRY is a food group, to open their eyes to nutritional truth?

Naysayers: "Nevermind what you purport, Lisa, Dairy IS a food group. . . that's what we were TAUGHT - so it has to be true, and we don't intend to eliminate a whole food group from our diet - so go some where else with your 'health is in plant foods speech.' We're good. We'll survive."

And according to these deceptively erroneous food groups, if fruits and veggies are carbs and grains are carbs, what are low/no carb dieters eating?

Fighting The "I-Tis"

To all those who are vegan-curious: Who says you can only eat three meals a day? Eat as many plants as you want - if you're hungry a couple of hours after a meal, EAT!

You know that "I-tis" that happens in many homes on Sunday afternoons after the BIG Sunday dinner? Well, that sleepiness no longer happens when you're a whole-foods-plant-based vegan. Nope, no heavy eye-lids - no looming feeling of a nap - doesn't happen.

Why? When you feel deathly sleepy after a meal (this is so sad), your body literally has to put you to sleep to digest the foreign substances (animal products) you just consumed in HUGE quantities. Yes, digesting meat is LABOR-INTENSIVE for your poor system. . . so it takes everything it has - to tackle this "meal" - so, in order for some form of digestion to occur, your body has to put you to sleep. It cannot function with you awake with that FULL meat belly. 

In the Black culture, the "I-tis" is welcomed and embraced. . . most think it's a signature of a good meal to get sleepy. Oh, but for the lack of knowledge. Scientifically, this self-torture doesn't happen with plant-based vegans. The body can readily recognize plants and can easily digest them so our energy goes through the roof rather than fighting the nap of our life - yes, even after a meal. No nap required.

Give Me Disease!

Carbohydrates are only present in plant foods." ~ Dr. McDougall.

There are no carbohydrates in meat (no fiber either). So tell me again what you're eating if you're on a low-carb/no carb diet? Listen to me: It's foolishness. Fool. Ish. Ness. Hopefully you have common sense not to eat processed carbs - that's bad for all of us - but you can't eat a potato? Peas? A piece of fruit? Psh! You "done" fell and bumped yo' head if you're falling for that. So many of you reading this are either watching your carbs or avoiding them altogether. Foolishness.

But you can eat all the animal flesh, dairy, and eggs your acidic soul desires. Tell me how that makes sense (not to mention - I bet my bottom dollar that YOU ARE CONSTIPATED - yep, you and your high-animal product diet. . . what are you thinking? Bowel movements are only supposed to occur once every other day??? (I'm judging you right now.) Foolishness.

Let me tell you why it's both bogus and foolish, Friends. Our bodies must maintain an alkaline environment. Well, how do we promote an alkaline body? I'm glad you asked: Eat alkaline foods. Oh, and most diseases thrive in an acidic environment - you find me a sickly person and I'll show you an acidic body. It ain't magic to reverse disease - just change the diet from acidic to alkaline and you're on your way to optimal wellness. See the chart above for acidic/alkaline foods (did you know that CHEESE is one of the most acidic foods known to man? - I'm betting you didn't know it.)

So, when you eat your acidic foods, you're screaming to the Universe: Give me disease! Yep, that's what you're saying - so don't boo-hoo cry when you're diagnosed with this or that - your acidic diet invited it. I don't know any other way to present the truth to you - abrasive? eh, a little, but you don't seem to be paying much attention - and you're still feeding your kids garbage - I can somewhat understand your difficulty breaking free from an acidic diet but right now this very moment you need to switch your children over to an alkaline diet. Now! (sugar is acidic as well).

Look low/no carbers - You are clogging your arteries and engendering a body that welcomes disease. Surely, the reason you're so ANTI-CARBS is that you've just jumped on a bandwagon without doing your own research. Now, that you're informed, I expect that you would FLOOD your diet with nutrient-dense, antioxidant, alkaline foods: Plants. Just eat plants and thrive. We don't have to degenerate as we age - we don't.

And save your parents too! Average life-expectancy is 75-80. . . and if your parents are older than that, what is the quality of their life? Are they alive or are they ALIVE? Can they walk? Are they off meds? Do they have swollen knees and high-blood pressure? That's not quality living to me.

Take this information and help reverse disease for your friends and loved ones.

Eat plants. More raw than cooked.

The Right Kind of Wrong

Living the single life, I spend time thinking about who's right for me . . . what's interesting is there ARE those who are VERY wrong for us yet if you're like me, you tolerate them.

My take away from this movie quote is I will no longer ponder who's right for me - no longer will I allow them into my space giving them chance after undeserved chance; instead, I will be more adept at determining immediately who's wrong for me as it's impossible - we can't be the right fit for everyone. 

I've been looking at this coupling game all wrong this whole time; it's true: We ARE all wrong for someone.

Following this creed will make attempts to date a little simpler and sweeter.
(Knowing this years ago would have saved me days and nights of unnecessary pain, endless tears, and bone-crushing heart ache - but as the popular 1970s song goes: I can see clearly now that the rain is gone - and it's gonna be a bright, bright, bright sunshiny day)

Carbs Are Evil - Or Are They? Where Do You Get Your Fat?

Seriously, if you HAVE fat and you want to lose fat, but you can't seem to wonder why it isn't melting away, I suggest you ask yourself: Where am I getting my fat? If you have fat and you want to lose fat, why are you adding fat?

Aha! Therein lies the problem: You are OBLIVIOUS to your sources of fat, aren't you? So, you resort to silly a** diets to ditch the fat only to resume a high-fat diet again - never facing the problem head on!

Try this, ask Google today how much fat is in the foods you're eating. Type: How much fat is in . . . and see what comes up. I'll post examples below. This way you can be knowledgeable about what goes into your bodies.

Listen, there are THREE essential nutrients we consume: Carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. I need to know: Why in the hell are you eliminating carbs and treating them as if they are fats?
O_O C'mon people.

Okay, so, if you eliminate carbs, what's left that you're consuming? Yep, Fats and proteins (and protein is in all whole foods anyway) - so when you hear someone claim they don't eat carbs, what they really are purporting is that they eat a diet high in FATS! Does this make sense to you? So, you have a FAT person trying to lose weight by eliminating CARBS and eating FAT. ???? This can't seem strange only to me. Ha!

I remember about 19 years ago, a colleague was excited about the Atkins Diet (high fat fad diet). At the time, I used to eat an apple for breakfast every morning, so I asked:

Me: Can I eat an apple on this diet?
Her: No, but you can eat eggs, bacon, butter, cheese, and pork rinds.

I was a young something then, but I had enough sense to know that a diet that tells me I can't eat an apple is not a plan for me. I applauded her for her weight loss results but decided to stick to my own way. Years later, I heard she regained all the weight and then some.

So sad. People perish for the lack of knowledge.

Okay, let's clarify this: How are Carbs fat? Those of you who SWEAR by a low-carb diet, please tell me how CARBS are fat? Please. Take a sweet potato for instance. If you're on a low-carb diet, you can't eat a sweet potato can you? But you can eat eggs? Let's see what Google says about the FAT in these items.

Google, "How much fat is in a sweet potato?" Google says in 1c of cubed sweet potatoes there is .1g of fat. (remember all whole foods we eat contains varying amounts of all three essential nutrients).
Google, "How much fat is in eggs?" Google says 1 hard boiled egg yields 5g of fat.

So, help me understand this: A person trying to lose weight can't eat an apple (Google, "How much fat is in an apple?" Google says .3g; Google "How much fat is in chicken breast?" Google says in 100 grams of chicken breast (who eats such a small piece? NO ONE) there are 9g of fat), but they can eat bacon, cheese (Google, "How much fat is in one slice of cheese?" Google says 9grams - wow same as the 100 grams of chicken), and other high fat products?

Google, "How much fat is in a potato?" Google says .2grams. POINT TWO GRAMS, y'all, but dieters avoid the potato like it's the devil.

Someone needs to make sense of this low-carb craze for me because the FACTS say something different.

If you HAVE fat and you want to LOSE fat, why in the hell are you EATING fat?

Oh, and for the hidden processed oils you add, I can't resist:

Google, "How much fat is in olive oil?" Google says 1TB of olive oil has 14, did you read that? 14 grams of fat - and Who do you know stops at 1 TB of olive oil? (Is oil bad for us? Not really - not if you don't have FAT you're trying to lose or reverse heart disease - it's best to get the fat from the whole olive rather than from pressed oil.)

If you HAVE fat, and you want to LOSE fat, why do you continue to ADD fat?

To those that have ears to hear, let them hear. Do not perish for the lack of knowledge; you have been informed.

Eat Greens and Lose Weight Rapidly!

Oh wow. . . it really is happening all over again - Why, oh, why did I wait so long to go back to a GREENS based diet? I told you yesterday I was down two pounds, well, I'm down another pound this morning. Truth be told, I even had two pb&j sandwiches w/fritos mixed in yesterday (I can explain - don't judge me - lol) - but with ALL the raw greens I ate, the scale is still moving downwards (I'm sure the pb&j w/fritos is the reason I only had 1lb down and not 2 or 3). 

Anyway, I'm going to try to stay off the scale, as I long ago quit my relationship with it, but I just wanted you to SEE up close and personal that eating an animal-product free - greens-based diet shreds your waistline. The last time I did this I blew threw 30lbs in 40 days. Then I stopped never to go back fully to it because it's hard to eat raw greens - it's not a lot of fun although the results are astounding. 


How am I eating my greens? Well, it's balls to the wall - RAW. I graze on kale - raw; I graze on celery - raw; I graze on broccoli - raw. . .then I make a big green tomato-avocado salad in addition to my no fade smoothie. . . and results are happening. 


This could be your day if you want it to be. You can embrace being comfortable with being uncomfortable by munching on raw greens all day - enjoy a cooked plantbased meal this evening and wake up weighing less tomorrow. 


If it were not so, I would have told you.

What's Holding You Back from a Plant-based Diet?

I've been promoting the benefits of a plant-based diet for over a year now - I'd love to hear if any pill pushers among us or any one overweight has tried it. I'm curious: If you know success awaits you with a diet based on all the whole foods you can eat (cooked and raw) why are you lingering on the S.A.D. (Standard American Diet) side of life? Why are you so attached to your pills? Have you associated who you are with your disease? Does this comfort you? Tell me you haven't made peace with your illness and accepted it as your norm? Tell me you haven't thrown in the towel and given up the fight? What is holding you back from wellness? What's stopping you from beginning? or beginning again? Are you fearful that a plant-based diet might actually free you from the chains of nutritional darkness? Free you from the enslavement of a life shackled to pills?

You are reading these posts; I know you are. Now, I'm waiting to hear your success story - you've heard mine and you're also continuing to watch it unfold as I have many miles to go before I sleep.

There's no glory in disease.
There's no glory in popping pills.
There's no glory in low libido (Booo to all those who don't have "the energy" - shame on you for what you're doing to your lover).
There's no glory in body odor - no glory in degenerating as we age - there simply is no glory in any of this.

If you haven't already, plan to make tomorrow the day you saturate your meals with whole foods (and your children too - take them off all that processed food and let them eat fruit! - what the hell is a fruit roll-up anyway? a rice crispie? sugary cereal? fruit cups? - foolishness! Give them fruit - let them eat fruit!).

And you? Start your day with a green smoothie. Enjoy a hearty baked potato (or sweet potato) and big green salad for lunch (if you cover it in ranch, you might as well eat a burger - if you add egg to it, you've negated the purpose - no cheese - no animal products at all - not if you want to be well - you've got to avoid processed items as well). How about a tasty bean soup for dinner? or burritos and rice w/steamed broccoli? Oh, the meals are endless.

A plant-based diet holds most of the answers to your healing and weightloss.

Why are you so resistant to becoming a stronger, better, healthier you? (with no silly-ass diets required - can't eat an apple? psh! what sense does that make? But you can eat meat? And all meat is FAT? Oooo - Don't touch a potato it has "Carbs!" - lol - but you can eat chicken! Wake up, lovelies, if you're eating meat, that IS your FAT source. . . poor carbs take all the heat - when it's actually the nasty dairy you're using to smother them).

Sigh.

Decisions. Decisions.

Stay fat? Keep popping pills? Keep telling your lover "No"? - ugh!

Come on, People! Wake up.

Greens for Protein!

Alright, alright: I give! Since you INSIST on focusing on protein - peep this:
Spinach is 49 percent protein, kale is 45 percent protein, broccoli is 45 percent protein, lettuce is 34 percent protein, & Chinese cabbage is 34 percent protein. . . so, pack your diet today with 1lb of raw greens & 1lb of cooked greens and watch that waistline SHRED!



Get Back Up and Keep Going - Get Healthy Today!

So far this year, some of you have been struggling to eat better and exercise - then, as it always does, life happens influencing you to remove wellness as a priority in your life.

Why? Why do you continue to sabotage your success? Get back out there! Go for a run today (or walk), do 25 jumping jacks, jump rope - do something.

Make healthier nutritional choices (I don't give a d*mn what you ate yesterday or this weekend - I'm talking about right now - today). Eat more raw foods than cooked foods - leave animal products alone (they're killing you and stealing your vitality. . . trust me on this one). Stop putting your sons first and your daughters first and your spouses first . . . What about you?

The best thing you can do for your family is to guard your health with your LIFE so that you can BE HERE and be STRONG while you're here and THRIVE until you die.
If you are overweight, lose it! You cannot have a successful elderly life and be FAT, you can't! Who the hell do you think you're fooling. Don't resort to fad diets and quick fixes - "man up" and do the work. Day - after difficult day - Do. The. Work.

If you don't have weight to lose, but you eat a lot of animal products, you can BEST BELIEVE, your arteries are clogged or you're dancing with cancer (especially if those genes run in your family) - decide to be well from the inside out. Do you know that a high-raw alkaline diet can deactivate cancer genes, reverse heart disease, and eliminate diabetes type 2, arthritis, allergies, and many other ailments that leave us DIS-EASED? Well, now you know.

There are still 177 days remaining until 2015 - you can attain phenomenal success by the end of this year!

It's time to Go hard with your diet and your exercise and show us some hot pictures in a few months!

Live with Intent!


I intend to live free from disease - so I don't live out of habit. Anymore. Habit wouldn't have me in the gym for 3 hours a day. Habit wouldn't have me choosing fresh fruits and vegetables over processed foods. It's my intent that propels me.

When research revealed that we don't have to be sick and achy and fat, I ditched my habits and targeted my intent (oh, I could tell you some stories about my poor nutritional habits - moment of silence for that foolishness).

So, I ask: With every morsel you eat today, what is your intent? Trying to gain health by losing weight? Oh really? Does your plate or your drink agree? Trying to reverse or heal a disease? Hmmmm. . . all that sugar, fat, and processed foods you're ingesting disagrees.

Most people suffer from cognitive dissonance - they believe one thing but ALL actions reveal another "truth." Are your actions aligned with your intent? Why are you doing something the same way it's always been done just for the sake of habit? Where has habit gotten ya? Arthritis? Migraines? Low libido? Double chin? Bulging waistline? Penis dysfunction? Clogged arteries?

Live more out of intent.
Do something. Start today. (And create a new 4th of July - still be healthy - still get your work out in - LIVE WITH INTENT!!! Holidays are NO excuse to revert to habits).
